It's a surprising premise written brilliantly. This fic just piles sadness on you the longer you read it :<

Play for Me, Vivaldi by

hotarumyst: One-shot, PG-13. Cho Kyuhyun, a demoralized violinist, meets Lee Donghae, self-acclaimed fiddler on the roof, and discovers a chunk of what his life's always been missing.

First off, any fic set in, what, 1600s Europe? is bound to get my attention. Secondly, you can tell the author really knows her violin stuff, so it's really fun to read just for that reason. Thirdly, I love the character development that Kyuhyun undergoes. This fic isn't without its flaws, but it's genuinely enjoyable and it might stick with you for a while.

The Love Song by

warmboys: One-shot, G. AU. Kyuhyun is a high school recording artist who rides the bus home every day from the studio. One night he notices someone who gets on the stop after his.

I almost didn't include this, but my mind came back to it over and over and I eventually had to. Like most of her work, this has an unusual premise paired with lovely writing and poignant moments. It's bittersweet and you get a nice sense that there's a future for both of them.
