- I tend to recommend only one fic per author (after all, that's what the author spotlights are for), but if you find you like a fic, please check out the rest of that author's work—you'll probably love all of it.

We Will Keep the Skeptics Humming by
This is my favorite Hanchul fic. It's part of the Laundromat AU, which is also probably my favorite series ever. The title is awesome, and it really plays with time-skipping and tells a disjointed, touching love story where the reader is left to fill in the blanks. I love the way she writes Heechul and Han Geng here, and how both of them have flaws but they balance each other out perfectly.
Drabbles by
This is like a box of chocolates! Ten different universes and Hanchul is awesome in every one of them.
A Thousand Times Over by
I am so in love with this author's strange sci-fi-esque scenarios. This is strange and sad and it doesn't bother to explain itself, which is really nice. It has a sense of the inevitable, and if you view it as an allegory it makes this a million times more depressing and mind-blowing.
Distance Therapy by
Everything this author writes is like pure gold. This is no exception. She's really good at writing about insomnia, the fic is perfectly bittersweet and laced with her lovely dry humor, and I love the way she writes Heechul.
Raising Flags by
I burst out laughing so many times while reading this. This has excellent comedic timing, the pacing is nice and unhurried, and Heechul is impeccably written. The sweet Siwon/Sungmin is just a nice added bonus.
For Thine is the Kingdom by
This fic is wildly clever in a way that is really, really rare in fanfiction. Han Geng's lines make my english major heart explode. Also, the emotional punch is devastating. A lot of people have described this as a mindfuck; those people are probably right.
My Love Overflows Like Rainwater by
One of the reasons I tend to read every pairing ever is because, especially in this fandom, each pairing has its own cliches. QMi has an overabundance of fluff and happy endings; Hanchul has an overabundance of tragedy. This fic is tragic and some may argue that it doesn't even belong in this section. This fic is a study in the power of omission, and uses this pairing's language gap to question how relationships survive when communication is hindered or impossible.--
